Vares Marks Completion of Dog Population Management Plan Project

The Municipality of Vares marked the successful completion of the project “Development of a Dog Population Management Plan” on Wednesday, 1st of October 2025, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Dogs Trust Foundation.

The project represents a significant milestone in establishing a humane and sustainable Dog Population Management System in this proactive municipality.

During the event, stakeholders presented the project’s key results and outlined upcoming activities designed to ensure a more effective and compassionate approach to addressing the issue of stray dogs. A central focus will be on neutering of owned dogs, to be carried out by the local Veterinary Clinic  in cooperation with the Municipality. To support this effort, essential medical supplies were donated, reinforcing one of the most effective measures for directly reducing the number of stray dogs.

In recognition of their contribution, certificates of appreciation were awarded to workshop participants who actively supported the development and implementation of the plan’s activities.
