Children are society’s most vulnerable group, but also its future. That’s why the Dogs Trust Foundation has long recognised the importance of educating children about dogs, with a special focus on safety—both around dogs and in direct contact with them. Over the past 12 years, nearly half a million children across the country have taken part in our engaging and educational workshops and events. Parents and schools have also benefited, gaining valuable knowledge and tools to support safe and positive interactions with dogs. Now, after more than a decade of success, the time has come for local stakeholders to build on these achievements and carry this practice forward—ensuring the safety of children, the welfare of dogs, and the well-being of the entire community.
