Neutering

IMPORTANT NOTE: WITHIN THE CAMPAIGN OF FREE NEUTERING OF OWNED DOGS IN THE REGIONS OF ACTIVITY, DOGS TRUST FINANCES THE PROCEDURE OF SURGICAL NEUTERING,
WHILE ACCORDING TO THE NEW APPROACH, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNERS TO COVER THE COSTS OF STATUTORY MANDATORY TREATMENTS, INCLUDING CHIPPING AND THE ANNUAL RABIES VACCINE.
In order for our resources to be used most efficiently, and the support we voluntarily provide for local communities to be sustainable, the Dogs Trust Worldwide Foundation Bosnia will, as of 2022, implement its dog neutering programme exclusively in the regions whose local authorities have clearly demonstrated they are familiar with the legal measures and their obligations, particularly from the state Law on Animal Protection and Welfare, and that they have already initiated specific steps for the full, consistent, continuous, and transparent implementation thereof. Therefore, the results we achieve will not be at risk of being nullified, and such proactive local authorities will use this valuable assistance to establish, more efficiently and with savings for local budgets, a permanent, humane, and lawful system to manage the dog population, leading to a permanent and complete solution.

The application for local authorities, which we had sent to each municipality in BiH, was open for more than 3 months, until 24 December 2021. After the evaluation, in accordance with our available resources and capacities, the support to local communities, whose authorities had met the set criteria, began in stages.
