Dogs Trust's Dog School will soon end its visit to Mostar, where our professional trainers work on dog training and education of owners from this city and its surroundings from October 15 to November 15, 2024.
Given the limited resources and capacities, there is only one permanent location of this progressive training in BiH, which includes mandatory education of owners and exclusively positive motivation in dog training. In the past 5 years and more, the Dog School organizes visits twice a year and provides this valuable service to the regions of the country.
On Saturday, November 9, 2024, an event was organized for the media to record the work and success of candidates in Mostar, as well as to find out firsthand from trainers what is most important in the dog training process.
In addition to the adequate acquisition of a pet, taking into account the compatibility of the needs and character of the dog with the lifestyle and capabilities of the owners, educating the owners about the way their pet "thinks" and learns best, and training through exclusive rewarding, is the most important link in preventing dog abandonment, as well as unwanted behavior and incidents that may occur due to unmet needs and inadequate care and training of the dog.
The training conducted by professional trainers of the Dog School is tailored to each individual owner and dog, and aims to educate owners to learn how to most effectively manage their pet while building trust and a strong bond with them.
Success is guaranteed only if you are committed, come to classes regularly, consistently follow the instructions of the trainer, and exercise when and where possible with your pet, says Mirza Jalovčić, Head Trainer at the Dog School.
Learning the basic commands that are necessary for the daily harmonious life of the owner and the dog both at home and in the community, is only the beginning of the potential that opens up after successfully completing the training because it provides tools for the owner to continue working with his/her dog on a daily basis on all behaviors that are desirable, while providing their furry friend with mental stimulation that is also important for the well-being of the dog.
