On Monday, October 7, 2024, the Dogs Trust BiH Foundation organized a gathering for dog owners and lovers, children, parents and other citizens at Trg Krajine/Boska in Banja Luka with the aim of strengthening the Initiative for responsible acquisition and keeping of pets, animal care, and a humane, legal and systemic approach to solving the problems of abandoned dogs permanently and sustainably in this city and its surroundings.
A large number of animal friends as well as numerous families with children participated in this gathering and enjoyed the interactive quiz "What Banja Luka knows about dogs", a fun and educational workshop for the youngest ones, as well as a prize draw with 15 main prizes, as follows:
· Vouchers for services in the veterinary clinic Slaven d.o.o.
· Dogs Trust comfortable, quality dog beds
· Special waterproof car mats
Other visitors received useful tips and appropriate gifts, and everyone enjoyed photographing and video booth shooting, as well as sharing fun video clips on social networks.
The Dogs Trust Foundation has been cooperating with the city administration and veterinary experts of the City of Banja Luka and in partnership with the association "Koliba" from Banja Luka, it has been supporting the implementation of a humane system for managing the dog population for many years, targeting a sustainable and humane solution as the only guarantee that the problem with abandoned dogs will not recur. Our achievements have contributed to positive changes in the awareness and behavior of dog owners, by improving the veterinary profession for small animals whose capacities have grown incomparably since the beginning of our engagement, to the numerous citizens who have decided to adopt a dog, to children who largely know the principles of safety with dogs and to all citizens who better understand the roles and advocate for a progressive system and humane attitude towards animals and responsibility towards nature and all living beings.
