The continuation of cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed

Dogs Trust Worldwide Foundation Bosnia (Dogs Trust BiH) continues to support the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina through the financing and implementation of sterilization and additional veterinary treatment of abandoned dogs residing at the locations of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout the country, in accordance with the state Law on Animal Protection and Welfare.

The protocol on the continuation of cooperation, which began in 2021, was signed on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 by the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, and Karen Reed, Director of Dogs Trust Worldwide.

In addition to the processing of dogs living in the circles of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the new Agreement also provides for financial support of the Dogs Trust Foundation in improving the accommodation of demining dogs of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Helez expressed satisfaction with this cooperation and thanked the Dogs Trust Foundation for its ten-year commitment to the humane and legal resolution of the issue of abandoned dogs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Mrs. Reed emphasized the great importance that cooperation with the Ministry has for achieving a lasting solution.

Since October 2021, Dogs Trust has successfully conducted neutering, cleansing of intestinal parasites, vaccination against rabies, and marking of abandoned dogs at the locations of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bileca, Butile, Pale, Bihac and Capljina, while in the coming period it is expected to collect information and spread these campaigns to other locations.
